With the thoughts of many on those that live on the Gulf Coast and many political observers watching the RNC in Tampa, news specific to the world of small business has been slow the last few days. But..if you are a follower of all things politic, two new scandals have dominated the news in Albany. Senator Shirley Huntley has been charged in a sham non-profit operation and Assemblyman Vito Lopez has seen his staff slashed, chairmen position revoked and many elected officials calling for his resignation after sexual harassment claims have been made. Adding to this is the new revelation that Speaker Silver authorized a payment of $103,080 from taxpayer dollars to settle harassment claims.
