Over the weekend there was some news in the North Country as it was revealed that NY is buying 69,000 acres of land in the Adirondack Park for $49.8 million. The plan calls for a five-year phase to pay for the land and the state will pay full local property taxes and school district taxes on the land. The land will be used for public use and tourism.
Moving on to Southern Tier interests…while NY continues the debate over drilling, other parts of the Marcellus Shale are enjoying being part of the most productive natural gas field in the US.
Looking for something to do this week, check out some late summer fun at the 79th Annual Empire Farm Days in Seneca Falls, NY.
