This week has seen the action in Albany to be somewhat muted compared to the flurry of activity last week. Budget negotiations are in the final stages and all signs point to completion early to middle of next week.
Minimum wage, it appears, is not included in budget negotiations, but the issue is far from over. And really, I take everything with a grain of salt..
Yesterday, in a case that NFIB filed an amicus in support of the petitioners, the Supreme Court unanimously upheld the rights of landowners! This was a tremendous victory for small business owners across the country!
From the ICYMI files, recently the New York State Department of Financial Services announced it was investigating out-of-network medical costs. Speaking of healthcare, oral arguments begin Monday in the historic Supreme Court hearing on the constitutionality of the Affordable Care Act. NFIB, with 26 other states, has been a national leader in bring this to the Supreme Court level. Truly a tremendous accomplishment and all eyes will on the Court has the proceedings begin.
